Does Recepti keep the video?

Updated 19 October 2026 · 2 min read

Short answer

No. When you import a video link, Recepti's server fetches the public media to read the recipe and deletes temporary files once processing finishes. Your saved recipe keeps the ingredients, steps, credit and a link back to the original video.

What happens during a video import

  1. Recepti fetches the public post from the link.
  2. It reads the caption and follows a recipe link if there is one.
  3. If needed, audio is transcribed and a few frames are looked at.
  4. The recipe is saved. Temporary files are deleted automatically.

Who processes it

The privacy policy lists the processors: Google Gemini reads and structures recipe content, and Groq transcribes audio from video imports. They process the content only to complete your import, and Recepti does not use it to train its own models.
